Beyond Routine Service

Pool Construction & Specialty Operations? We Can Still Help.

Some pool businesses do more than maintenance — full resurfacing, electrical work tied to pool systems, new equipment installs, or commercial and municipal contracts. Those operations need a different kind of underwriting than a weekly cleaning route, which is exactly why being an independent agency matters: if one carrier's program doesn't fit, we go to the next one in our lineup of 30+.

Pool Contractor Insurance FAQ

I have one or two part-time helpers. Do I really need workers' comp?

In most of our states, workers' comp is required once you have employees — even part-time. It also protects you personally if a helper is hurt on a job site.

What's the difference between general liability and the equipment coverage?

General liability covers damage or injury you cause to others. Equipment coverage (inland marine) protects the tools, vacuums and testing gear you own when they're stolen or damaged away from your shop.

My business does both routine cleaning and occasional construction work. Can one policy cover everything?

Sometimes — it depends on how the carrier underwrites that mix. We'll review your actual operations and either fit you into one policy or split coverage across carriers so nothing is left exposed.

Do I need commercial auto if I just drive my own truck to job sites?

If that truck is used for business, yes — a personal auto policy typically excludes business use, which can leave you without coverage after an accident.

What if I accidentally damage a customer's pool equipment while servicing it?

That's what voluntary property damage coverage is built for — it's an optional add-on specifically for accidental damage to property you're actively working on.
